Sweeter Lemon in Better Homes and Gardens Do It Yourself Magazine

August 17, 2011By

Kinda. Sort of.

Let’s go back a few months. A very nice woman from Better Homes and Gardens Do It Yourself magazine contacted me via email, and requested some samples of my magnets to be featured in the Fall 2011 edition. A crazy couple of days to make the magnets, overnight them, and cross my fingers that they arrived for the photo shoot followed. They did, everything was fine, and it was up to me to wait and see when the magazine came out.

Unfortunately, they didn’t get the feature with the website credit that I had hoped for (that’s what we discussed in the initial email conversation). The woman I spoke with back in March doesn’t work there anymore, so there isn’t much I can do. Oh well. Them’s the breaks.

My magnets!

But I can show you all the pretty pictures, and say – hey, those are my magnets! In print! In a super awesome magazine! Isn’t that cool? And aren’t they cute?

There they are!

The magnets are my Birds in Trees magnets, and the Vibrant Teal Paisley magnets. I wish I knew where the puppy magnet came from, it’s adorable!

I actually subscribed to the magazine after I found out I’d be in it. I’m glad I did – there are a lot of cool ideas and projects. And while this didn’t work out exactly as I expected, I’m still so amazed that my magnets caught the eye of a fantastic national publication. I’m absolutely thrilled and grateful and proud. Thank you, Better Homes and Gardens Do It Yourself magazine!

Hey, I think they owe you a “correction” on the letters to the editor page! Better yet- how about a letter to the editor wondering where to get those neat magnets on page 27?
