I’ve been giving myself more at-home manicures than I used to. Through trial and error, and a little luck, I have found three extremely cheap at-home manicure items that I absolutely cannot live without. I love them all. And did I mention they’re cheap?
1. e.l.f. Essentials Nail Polish Removal Pads - $1.00
For removing nail polish, these are my go-to removal pads. They work really well, and actually smell nice. I think they must have some sort of nourishing ingredient, because my nails don’t feel dry after using them. I can usually use one pad on all 10 fingers (unless it’s glitter polish, then it’s a different story).
2. e.l.f. Essentials Nourishing Cuticle Pen - $1.00
I don’t typically like to wear a lot of hand lotion (too greasy). But with all of my manicures, and even with the nourishing effects of the removal pads above, my cuticles get very dry. This pen is a great way to give them a little moisture. Just rub the pen on your cuticles, and you’re good to go. It’s nice and neat, and doesn’t drip. I keep one in my purse and one at home. FYI – I always use this right before I take my manicure photos for Flickr.
3. e.l.f. Essentials Concealer Brush – $1.00
A concealer brush? As a nail tool? Yes! This is the greatest tip I’ve learned about at-home manicures. Grab a small brush like this concealer brush, and have it handy along with a little cap full of nail polish remover (pure acetone works best). As you’re applying your polish, if you flood your cuticle area or get polish somewhere you don’t want it, just dip the brush in the remover, and gently brush the polish away.
There you have it! Three cheap nail products I couldn’t live without. How about you? Any must-have cheap beauty tools you want to share?
