2011 Crafty Year in Review

Completed Projects, 2011

Looking back, I’d have to say that 2011 was the year of experimentation. I dabbled and tried a few different crafts. Thanks to Pinterest, I cooked more and experimented more in the kitchen. I tried my hand at jewelry making and even wrote a tutorial about one of my projects. All in all, it was a very good year.

The tally:

Knitting projects completed: 7

Crochet projects completed: 1, or 5 if you count each potholder

Cooking projects: 5

Quilting projects: 4 completed quilts, 2 quilt tops

Jewelry projects: 2

There are a few projects that fell by the way side (cough *three minute socks* cough) but trust me, they have not been forgotten. Even though some projects had were put on hold, I’d say that 2011 was a crafty success.

I have plans for next year, that include branching and picking up an embroidery hoop for cross-stitch and crewel work. I’d like to try more crochet, and give Tunisian crochet a try. I’m also planning a “no spend rule” for 2012, and work solely with yarn and fabric from my stash for any knitting, crochet and sewing projects (I have plenty!). I have a new bread machine, and I’m excited to experiment with it and try new recipes. I’m going to continue to try new recipes and see if I can make them work (even if it takes a few tries).

Wow, 2012 is looking to be a very busy crafty year! How about you? What do you have planned for 2012?
