Visitors!

Sorry for the radio silence around these parts! My awesome parents came up for a visit, so I was in a whirlwind of getting ready for them (including cleaning the house top to bottom, sewing new pillows, sewing a quilt, making preserves, etc. etc.) and then actually enjoying our time together. So while it may seem I haven’t been doing much, a LOT has been going on behind the scenes!

Mr. M and I have lived in Louisville about three and a half years now, but this is the first time my parents have had a chance to visit, so it was a lot of fun showing them around. We barely saw all the sights that Louisville has to offer, but what we did see was a lot of fun.

For instance, did you know that Louisville boasts a 120-foot bat right downtown? Yup.

Old-Timey Giant Bat

This giant bat sits right in front of the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory. It’s gigantic, and a makes for a really fun photo-op:

The picture of Dad trying to hold up the bat cracks me up. He’s ornery, and always finds ways to have fun with photo props, as you can see in this photo from our trip to Universal Studios way back in 1986, I believe:

Flashback Tuesday

Other than seeing the sights, we spent a lot of time just talking, which is always my favorite part of any visit. I really lucked out in the parental lottery. Mr. M and I both agree that we had a great time with Mom and Pop, and we can’t wait to see them again soon.

Now that the excitement is over, I have a few posts to catch up on! Jamming, knitting, stitching, quilting, walking, and more – stay tuned!
