Another Blanket Start
Remember a few posts ago, I was all, “Oh, I’m a process knitter! I like knitting challenges! I could never knit miles and miles of plain knitting! And I don’t care about the end product!” Yeah. That.
So what’s my latest project? A lap blanket knit in garter stitch measuring 48″ x 60″ made up of 2 inch squares, knit in sock yarn on size 2 needles. That’s 720 squares, for folks keeping track. Total project knitting. And I love it.
Long time readers may recall that I started a blanket like this last year. I made one fatal flaw in that blanket, though – I didn’t like the colors. And if I don’t like the colors? I’m not going to knit it. Plain and simple.
This time, I started gathering my colors before I started. I wanted a happy, fun, “Susan” looking blanket, so you’ll see a lot of pinks, purples, blues and brighter greens. Colors like these:
This is what it is going to look like:
See those purple squares? That’s how much I have done so far.
Yup. Let’s just say that I’ll be working on this for quite a while. But so far, I love it.
